Hand in hand with the Yazidi

We are a community of Yazidi working with a diverse group of lawyers, law students and human rights activists, all united by our commitment to justice and protection of human rights. Our aim is to empower and support the Yazidi in their struggle to access justice for the crimes committed by ISIS in 2014.

OUR MISSION

The mission of Yazidi Legal Network is to assist the Yazidis in achieving recognition of and accountability for international crimes committed by ISIS through investigation; documentation; training; capacity building and advocacy.

Core to our work is building bridges between the Yazidi community and domestic and international justice mechanisms.

“I know, life must go on, but it is a process that can only be done if the truth is told and we have justice. But without knowledge, there can be no justice.”

— Yazidi survivor at Bajid Kandela camp, Kurdistan Region of Iraq

We build bridges with experts, organisations and state entities to enable the Yazidi community to access justice. Documentation, research & analysis

We populate and maintain databases on crimes committed against Yazidis. These databases assist national and international authorities investigate and prosecute crimes against the Yazidis. Our research and open source investigations focus on the context in which crimes were committed and analyse linkage and leadership structures in the communities of perpetrators.
